About

In dedication to my Grandma, who had passed away from Alzheimer's. This piece is inspired by our disconnection that slowly happened as I lost her gradually to Alzheimer's in the duration of five years before she passed away due to the illness, and while she was far away in Syria, a home I was not able to visit. The only thing that connected me to her is this phrase by the writer Khalil Gibran. "I told my dreams to come, and so they came." My grandma and I have always been connected with dreams. My last memory of her before the disease started coming into effect was when she called my mother to let her know that she had a dream about me growing old in a new home while wearing a red shirt. Five minutes later, I called my mother only to inform her that I had the same dream while halfway around the world during my studies.
